Call for Abstracts

The call for abstracts is open January 31 - March 12, 2020. 

How to Log in to Submit:

  • Go to
  • Click the white "LOGIN" button on the top right corner of the home page
  • Enter you GSA username and password*
    • If you have forgotten your password, select Forgot Password. You can also click the "Forgot Password" option below the login fields.  
    • If you do not have an account with GSA, you will need to create one here

  • Once logged in, click the white "MY ACCOUNT" button on the top right corner of the home page 
  • Click "Abstract Central" to begin the submission process; (the abstract submission period begins January 31, 2020, and ends March 12, 2020)

*If you have previously been active with the Gerontological Society of America, you should have an existing account. If unsure, click Forgot Password to see if your email address is in the system.

  • February 14 – February 27, 2020 – Call for Abstract Reviewers (GSA members only)
  • Thursday, March 12, 2020 – Online Abstract Submission Deadline
  • Thursday, March 12, 2020 – Pre-Conference Workshop Application Deadline
  • Friday, July 10, 2020 – Late Breaker Poster Abstract Submission will open; details will be available in July
    • Please note: Program Areas open for Late Breaker Poster Abstracts Submissions are: Behavioral and Social Sciences (GSA student and transitional members and non-member students only); Biological Sciences; Health Sciences; Social Research, Policy, and Practice; Academy for Gerontology in Higher Education
  • Friday, July 10, 2020 – Abstract Acceptance/Non-Acceptance Email Notifications
  • Wednesday, July 22, 2020 – Abstract Withdrawl Deadline
  • Thursday, September 3, 2020 – Late Breaker Poster Abstract Submission Deadline
  • Early October - Late Breaker Poster Abstract Email Notifications

Important Resources

All abstracts must be submitted via the Cadmium submission site. Make sure to read the instructions on each page and the submission planning guide before completion. You will be able to edit your abstract as many times as necessary before the March 12 deadline.

Submission Fees

The abstract submission fee is a processing fee and is nonrefundable (regardless of acceptance). Once the abstract has been submitted, it is considered processed.

  • Professional Paper or Poster: $35
  • Student Paper or Poster: $20
  • Symposium: $45
