Membership in the Society shall be open to persons of good character who hold interest in furthering the purposes of the Society. The purposes of Society shall be to advance the scientific and scholarly study of aging and to promote human welfare by the encouragement of gerontology in all its areas.

Regular

$199/year

Individuals who do not meet the requirements of the other membership types with restrictions.

All member benefits outlined above; includes print subscription to two GSA journals.

Student

$97/year

Individuals who are enrolled full time in accredited institutions of higher education, those completing internship or residency requirements, and postdoctoral researchers and fellows.

All benefits of a regular member. Plus participation in the Emerging Scholar and Professional Organization (ESPO).

Transitional

$123/year

Intended for those transitioning to permanent career posts, this type is available only to current GSA ESPO student members (for a maximum of 2 years).

Undergraduate Student

$33/year

Undergraduates enrolled full time in accredited institutions of higher education.

All benefits of a regular member, but online journal access only. Plus participation in the Emerging Scholar and Professional Organization (ESPO).

Spouse

$62/year

Eligible to spouses of those in the regular membership category.

All benefits of a regular member, but online journal access only.

Emeritus

$62/year

Individuals who have been a member for 20 or more years and are no longer compensated for professional work. Members granted emeritus status prior to January 1, 2015, will be grandfathered in at their original emeritus dues rate.

Retired

$92/year

Individuals who have not been a member of GSA for 20 or more years but are no longer being compensated for professional work.
